1940s English Monopoly
Excellent condition, complete.
This is the first post-war edition with printed colour cardboard playing pieces on wooden bases, not the later pewter, playing pieces so familiar today. This was due to wartime shortages of this valuable metal which had not been remedied just after the war. These sets were in production only for two or three years. Complete, some wear and tear. No rips or scuffs. This edition is extremely rare having no dice, but instead, a spinner, imported dice being impossible to get hold of due to post-war restrictions. Illustration shows dice which are much later and can obviously be provided as spinner is not 100% random after all these years! 37 wooden houses and 15 hotels. Original rules and Short Rules. Box untorn. Slight creasing to centre board hinge.
